I have been a nanny for 12 years, and always did everything possible to keep the house clean and tidy even while caring for the children. It was not a requirement, but just is what I do. I have never had anyone clean my house and have lived in small and large houses. Now I live in in a 14+ sq. ft. condo and do all the work required. (As of the previous night I had to change the battery in a smoke detector in a very high ceiling, having to get the tall ladder from a downstairs garage). Hopefully that will tell you of my abilities. I also conversed with contractors, repair people, and decorators, monitoring their work, and reporting to employer.

Also I was able to to be in charge when a household accident happened (like a busted water tank in attic over children's nursery) My previous employer had a back porch built on with a stone fireplace while I was employed there, and I communicated with the workmen and allowed them into the house when necessary, with my supervision and permission of my employer. I have worked in Quality control in previous jobs before becoming a nanny so I have an eye for good quality workmanship and what it takes to get to good quality in the first attempt.
