I spent 10 years in an American boarding school in Germany where we thoroughly cleaned our rooms every Saturday (including dusting, vacuuming, bed changing, and bathroom cleaning). We also had specific chores around the dorm with an intense cleaning on Saturdays (I've done vacuuming, wall washing, window washing, van cleaning, fridge cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and some yard work over the years there).
As a child of missionaries, I have moved a lot and have learned to be organized and have helped my parents and other families "move house" multiple times.
