I started in August of 2010 through a company called King Cleaning. I worked three times a week cooking and cleaning for an elderly couple. I would sweep, dust, vacuum, mop, clean the bathrooms, wipe the walls, clean the windows, clean the refrigerator, and run errands to the grocery store for whatever they needed. They were capable of dressing themselves and keeping up their own hygiene but anything more was too strenuous for both of them. I enjoyed leaving each day knowing they were well taken care of and living in a clean healthy environment. I guess my mothering instincts took over and it helped me to appreciate the feeling of taking care of someone else who needed me.
