What is a job?

A job is a listing that you can post to Care.com announcing that you are seeking care. Care.com caregivers can then search and respond to your specific needs.

How do I post a job?

In My Account, click on the "Jobs" link in the left column. Then, click on the "Post a job" link. Fill out the form with details about your care needs following these 3 simple guidelines to ensure your job is posted in a timely manner. Be sure to include the type of care needed, dates, and times.

  1. Do not post anything offensive.
  2. Be respectful.
  3. Do not post any contact information or links.
Care.com reserves the right to remove or make edits to your job as we see fit.

Does it matter what type of job I posted?

Nope! We're so confident in the quality and responsiveness of the caregivers near you that if you don't receive a response within 72 hours of posting ANY job—whether you're looking for a babysitter, a nanny, home care for seniors, special needs care, a pet sitter, a tutor or an instructor, a housekeeper, or Care Gig help—that we'll refund your membership fee and close your account. Just let us know by emailing our Member Care team at careteam@care.com.

What's the difference between a "one-time" job and a "recurring" job?

A one-time job is a single event on a single day. A recurring job is a job where you will need care to span multiple days, or the job happens with some frequency. For example, if you have a meeting every Thursday evening and need a babysitter during that time, that would be a recurring job.

At this time, if your job goes past midnight, you cannot use the "one-time" form. Please select the job type as "recurring" and enter the details there.

Do jobs require approval?

We reserve the right to screen jobs at our discretion. If you follow our posting guidelines, you should not run into a problem.

When does my job post expire?

For a "one-time" job, the job post expires on the date of the job or your entry for the "Post Job Until" section, whichever is sooner. For a "recurring" job, the job post expires on the end date of the job, or your entry for the "Post Job Until" section, whichever is sooner.

What happens when someone responds to my job?

When a care provider chooses to apply to your job, they will fill out an application. An application is a message explaining why they would be a great fit for your needs. Think of this message as a cover letter, and think of their profile as their resume. In addition, if they have a background check on file, they can automatically give you access to their background check with their application.

How can I view the applicants for a job?

Log into My Account, go to the Jobs page, and click "View Applicants" on the specific job. The number in parentheses after the link gives you an at-a-glance view of how many applicants have applied to your job post.

I found a care provider who meets my needs. Can I remove the job listing?

Yes! Go to the Jobs page and check the checkbox on the job you want to remove. Then, click "Close Selected Jobs." This will remove the job from our site search.

My job post expired. Can I still view the applicants for it?

Yes! Go to the Jobs page and click the "Closed Jobs" link near the top of the page. You are now viewing all jobs that have expired or that you have manually closed. Click the "View Applicants" link on the job that you want to view.
