I have always loved working with children and knew this would be my career path my entire life. I started my first paying job working with children at the local elementary school with 6-7 year olds while I was in high school. I loved being in the classroom so during my first years of college I worked in daycares, working with newborns up to age 6. I worked during the summer at a residential camp with girls ages 6-16. Later, I began to nanny for a friend for about 2 years.
I moved to the DC area and began working in a local preschool. I worked in a 4-year-old classroom where we were teaching the kids to read, write and do basic math. I spent 3 years with the preschool and took in everything.
