In my country, I was a law student and I decided to move to the United States to get a high proficiency level in English, something extremely necessary to be a Diplomat, my dream job. I have lived in San Francisco since September, and before that, I was living in Morgan Hill, CA as an Au Pair, an exchange program where girls from the entire world come to the USA to live with an American family, working basically as a live-in nanny. My former host family is more than happy to provide references about me as a person and employee. I was living with this family since October 2011, and I took care of a sweet 2 and a half year old girl. We built an amazing friendship, we have "BFF" necklaces, a secret handshake, and coordinate dance moves. I miss her everyday.
The responsibilities I had included playing with her, reading to her, taking her to the park, driving her to classes, preparing nutritious meals, giving a shower and putting her down to bed. I also used to do light housework.
In my free time, I got a babysitter job in regular basis. I took care of twin newborns, and my duties were feeding, bathing, walking at the neighborhood and activities to stimulate them, such singing, playing classic music, reading, showing toys with different colors and shapes, speaking in other languages (my native language is Portuguese, but I also speak Spanish).
In Brazil, I worked at a Canadian bilingual school with the toddlers and nursery classes (2 to 4 years). It was a very rich experience and taught me a lot about discipline methods and learning stimulation in early ages.
I love animals, but I must confess that I am a dog person, (I love cats too, but if I had to choose between them, I would stick with the dog)! I always had dogs at home, except right now (owner restrictions), so I am more than comfortable with pets.
I have my own transportation and a clean driving record. I am a good and reliable driver!
