I have experience tutoring and providing private child care for young children and adolescents with special needs. Most recently I worked at a maternity home with teenage mothers and their young children (8 months to 3 years old). My role as a residential counselor was to ensure the safety of the mothers and children, assist in the formation of mother/child bond, light housework, meal preparation, provide childcare while mothers attended school, and help make life fun for these teenagers and their children. I also have a 2 1/2-year-old goddaughter I am helping raise. She prepared me for parenting as I am now the mother of a 6-month-old little angel. I am passionate about being a positive role model in the life of a child because someone took the time to do it for me and it made all the difference.
