Hello,
I'm currently a part time college student and a part time nanny for a 19-month-old little boy. I've been a nanny for about 3 and half years. Hello,
I'm currently a part time college student and a part time nanny for a 19-month-old little boy. I've been a nanny for about 3 and half years. The first family I nannied for was for little boy M, I'm still very close to the family to this day. I was with M since he was about a month old, the parents felt he was too young for day care. As M got older we were able to do more activities like tag, sing, color build with building blocks, play trains, walk to the park, but M's favorite thing to do was story time, still to this day when I watch M, he'll pick up a book and flip through the pages (that's a hint for me to read to him). When M was about 2 years old he was old enough to be put into a learning day care. It was difficult not seeing M every day, but I'm very fortunate I'm still a part of M's life. I still babysit for M when his parents have the occasional date night, sometimes I even watch M over night when his parents go away for a long weekend. Aside from taking care of M, I also looked after the family dog, did light cleaning and M's laundry.
The family I'm currently a nanny for is for little boy B, I've been with the family since July 2011, the father of little boy B will be going back to school come January and the family will no longer need my help. I've grown very close to the family and love B very much. B was about 3 months old when I started taking care of him, he would look at me with his big blue eyes and smile when I would sing to him, of course that melted my heart. So I did a lot of singing the first few months I was with B. As B got older we were able to do more activities like go to the park, B loved and still loves being pushed on the swings, coloring, playing clapping games, cars, "pretend cooking", soccer (which consists of us kicking the ball back and fourth to each other). One of the things I've learned from being a nanny is that almost anything, can be turned into a game or activity and children love to help out. For example B likes to put pipe cleaner into a spaghetti strainer and put away groceries or toys. I truly love being a nanny, to me its the greatest job in the world, I'm not sure if "job" is even the right world for it because it's not just a job for me. I have a huge heart, I'm full of energy, patience, hugs, love and humor, all key things I think everyone needs when taking care of children. I'm looking forward to helping out one more great family.
