I started working with children when I was 13 years old. My mother was the piano player for our church and I was assigned to be the baby sitter for the choir members' kids. I planned activities and "dress-up" days and told stories to the children. As I worked with these kids I began to realize that this is what I want to do with my life. Since then I have had multiple babysitting jobs and was a nanny for one summer before entering college. I currently am working at the Boys and Girls Club's after school program as an youth development professional (counselor). There, I help with homework, teach art lessons, help with the theatre program and also coach a dance team. I am passionate about what I do because I can't imagine myself doing anything else.
