I am 19 years old and graduated from Attleboro High School in the spring of 2011 with a diploma and a certificate in Early Education and Care. I am a sophomore currently attending Rhode Island College with a major in business and a minor in dance. I have been caring for children since I was 14 years old. I have babysat for the same family for the past 5 years. At Attleboro High School, I completed the 3 year Early Education and Care program. In this program, I have learned the growth and development of children from birth up to age 5. Also, in this program I have had the opportunity to work in a laboratory school consisting of children ages 5 months to 5 years old. I have also interned in an infant and toddler classroom. During this internship, I have learned how to care for the basic needs of these children. I have learned how to prepare bottles, change diapers, identify the infant's needs based on the sounds of their cries, supervise small group activities and provide a nutritious snack. I have also interned in a mainstream second grade elementary class at Studley Elementary School. During this internship, I learned how to work with children with many different learning abilities, run a classroom and solve conflicts between children. Aside from my internships, I have had the opportunity to work in a preschool classroom and at a dance studio. I was an assistant teacher at the Attleboro Early Learning Center. I worked there my junior and senior years of high school. Currently, I am working at Step Ahead School of Dance where I teach ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling. I work with children ages 3 to 7. I am also certified in child and infant CPR and Standard First Aid. I am looking for a family that needs a baby sitter for weeknights or full days Friday through Sunday.
