I volunteered at the YMCA for two years working at a summer camp with children until I was offered a job. I worked as a summer camp counselor at the Y for two summers in a row. The children ranged from ages five to 12. My job description included participating in fun activities all over camp grounds throughout the summer. During the school year, I worked in the nursery at the YMCA, the children here ranged from ages 8 weeks to five years.

My job description included bottle feeding babies, changing their diapers, and sometimes rocking them to sleep. With toddlers and pre-schoolers, I read them stories, played dress-up, put together puzzles, made crafts, made sure they were going potty, and just keeping them entertained for an hour or two while their parents worked out upstairs. I currently babysit for one of my old teachers when his preschool is closed. I make sure her son is fed healthy snacks, we play outdoors, make crafts, watch movies, and I make sure he takes at least one nap during the day.
