This past summer, I was a nanny for two children, ages 8 and 10. I was responsible for taking and picking them up from swimming practice, cooking lunch and providing healthy meals, as well as scheduling fun activities for the summer. We also worked on helping remember state capitals, brain teasers and other intellectual games, to help keep their brain working. Similarly, I was a babysitter for my local neighborhood for six years.
Throughout high school, I also worked with a group called, "Interact", where I would come in on Fridays and watch the children in the Pre-kindergarten classes and help them with their homework, playing outside, or doing an activity that was scheduled by the teacher. This allowed the teacher to take a break, get some grading done, or whatever else she may need, for about an hour every Friday, before they went home.
I was also a lifeguard for three years at a large water park in my area, so I feel comfortable watching the safety of many children, at once.
