Tracy B.

Since March of 2009, Tracy has been caring for our 2 1/2-year-old daughter, and 4 1/2-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum. Unfortunately, we recently modified our schedule thus requiring fewer hours of Tracy's time. Tracy is bright, reliable, and affectionate. She is also well-versed in child development, both due to her experience being a mother and a natural affinity toward children. She relates to our son and daughter in such a delightful way, and helps keep things calm in our house. Tracy knows how to structure time well, but is also flexible. She is comfortable treating our kids as though they are her own. She helps them with games or project and has had no problem taking classes or devising new activities and art projects for the kids. It was Tracy's idea to take our daughter to an art class, library readings and found a great special needs swim program for us to take our son. She has learned quite a bit about autism and its challenges by not only being a caregiver, but by voluntarily reading about the disorder on her own. Tracy has also worked with our behaviorist to learn strategies and techniques on managing his issues. Tracy has shown great patience with our children, which admittedly is very difficult at times! We feel fortunate to have and have had Tracy in our home. Her approach to caring for our children complements our parenting well, as she respects our personal philosophies while being confident enough to independently make day-to-day decisions regarding our kids.
