I have worked as a nanny, teacher and babysitter for as many years as I can remember, working for children from as young as six weeks to middle school age. I am currently finishing a Master's in Early Childhood/Special Education and will be doing my student teaching in the fall. I have worked in the Westport Public Schools, teaching in the special education preschool and have spent the last year 3 years teaching in Fairfield, first as a assistant teacher but then as a Resources Teacher. This summer I worked as the Head Counselor for twenty two 4-year-old boys at a camp. I love working with children and providing them with the skills and the opportunity to explore and understand the world around them. I believe that children need affection, but also a sense of structure, in order for them to feel secure in their exploration. Children should enjoy their time, with as many hand on projects, songs and laughter as possible!
