I have three years total of experience teaching and caring for children, part of which I spent as an Americorps tutor and an English Teacher in China. I also have a year and a half of experience providing all basic for three men with mental and physical disabilities.

I believe it is important for children to have structure and to be held to high behavioral expectations. I also think it's important for children to feel validated and appreciated for their talents and contributions. These are the beliefs I bring to childcare and teaching.

I believe that vulnerable adults deserve to feel listened to and to be as independent as possible. And when they receive help, I believe it is important to help them avoid feeling helpless or ashamed. Most important, I believe that vulnerable adults deserve to feel respected. The disabled men I worked with definitely felt this way.
