Taylor babysat our 2-year-old son about once a week from April to September. Our son was always excited to see her and she was very friendly and warm towards him. She always made sure the house was cleaned up before she left and was good at working around my schedule which often changed. She was usually upfront about when she could and couldn't babysit for us and only canceled on us once when she was sick. She was our first babysitter and always put me at ease by promptly answering my texts to check in and see how things were going and how our son was doing. She would also always let me know how the day went before she left. We would definitely hire Taylor back when and if her schedule permitted.

I really value being honest and open with people. I hired Taylor for on call as needed and told her I would work around her schedule. I used her about 4 or 5 times and my daughter fell in love with her. I received a text from Taylor saying she had an amazing opportunity for the summer and she wouldn't be able to watch my daughter this summer. I told her great and good luck and to contact me after her schooling starts. Well, I caught her in a lie and I understand young girls need to learn and some learn the hard way, but she lied about leaving for the summer and she still watches for the other family she cared for when I hired her. I don't like being lied to and it's not difficult to catch someone in a lie these days. If the on call wasn't working all she had to do was tell me. I'm pretty easy to talk to. I am not sure what happened, but the only thing I can think of is I overheard Taylor telling my 4 year old daughter, "C (name not going to be given) I'm not going to play this board game with you if you keep cheating."....I went up stairs and I asked C if she knew what the word "cheating" meant and she didn't. I asked Taylor to be careful what she says to a 4 year old as they might not understand what these words mean and explain it to her a different way. Maybe Taylor didn't like that? I don't know, but my daughter thought she did something wrong to make Taylor go away and tears were shed.
