I have baby-sat for families for the past 10 years, from infants to teenagers. I was the director of a day camp at Stanford for four years, organizing activities and special care for kids ages 5 to 9 years old. I lived in Ghana, West Africa for 18 months, volunteering at a day care for children under age 5 teaching ABC's and facilitating games. I was also a nursing intern there and spent a month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, monitoring, feeding, and changing newborns and infants. For two years, I cared for 12/13-year-old twins, transporting them to extracurricular engagements, helping them with homework, and starting dinner. Since 2009 I have been taking part in the raising of my now 2-year-old niece. Most recently I was a temp nanny for 10-month-old twins. I am currently working part-time as a lifeguard/swim instructor at JCCSF (for ages 6 months to 10 years) and a Nursing Assistant at a clinic (which includes First Aid, CPR, and fingerprinting). I absolutely love being around babies, kids and teens. I like to engage with them through activities that stimulate their imagination, as it helps me remember mine!
