In high school, I was a cheerleader and also we had mini cheer camps. We would have to keep them in line, bathroom breaks, teach them how to cheer, snack time, we would also have to keep up with our own groups at the game for the first quarter (ages 4 to 12).
As a late teenager, I took care of a sweet boy of 4 years old. As all parents know, 4-year-olds are interactive, and he sure was. But that's what I love is staying on my feet. And he sure did. I loved every second of it.
Also during this time, I took care of a 8-month-old baby girl and 4-year-old. I would have to drive a 45 minute ride everyday to take care of the two angels, but it was more than worth it. Having two for sure kept me on my feet, but they are the best two kids to take care of. Anytime I would ever be taking care of the smaller baby, the 4-year-old would try to help me. They both have a giving soul at young ages, and being their caregiver, that means a lot to know I had something to do with that. Schedule on these two were breakfast, medicine (at the time), diaper change, bottle, nap time, watching movie, playing with toys, lunch time, another bottle when ready, snack time for the both of them, play and watch movies till hearts would fall asleep till their mommy got home.
All three of those kids were and will always be a joy in my life. Babyies, toddlers, children are just a heart warming gift. Being a caregiver is more than a job for me; it's making a difference in someone else's life. And I know they are just children, but that is their time of learning, and it's amazing to know I could make them who they are today.
