I have just completed my first year of college in MA. I'm majoring in psychology and minoring in education with a concentration in Race and Ethnic relations. I currently have a Golden Retriever, but have grown up with cats, hamsters, and fish as well. During the school year, I volunteer with a program on Saturday mornings that mentors Worcester girls ages 8-12, and on Sunday mornings I volunteer at my school's Unified Sports program, working with children and young adults who are developmentally and mentally impaired. I've been babysitting for about seven years, with experience with children of all ages. The two families I currently babysit for have two boys under age 7, and one boy and one girl under age 10, as well as a young Chocolate Lab. Another child I babysit for frequently is a 7-year-old with Down Syndrome. I also have four cousins under the age of 4 who I spend ample time with. While I do adhere to instructions given by parents, I try to encourage the kids to play outside, weather and light permitting, for at least some of the time I am with them. I also enjoy playing games and doing crafts and watching an occasional movie.
