I helped raise my 2 younger brothers before I even started kindergarten. I can remember having to pull a chair up to the counter in order to make peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for us to eat! I also was a "paid" babysitter from the time I was 10 years old & all through my teenage years growing up.
I had my only son when I was 21 yrs. old & I always baby-sat for extra income all throughout his childhood. He is now a 21 yr. old full time college student & still lives at home with me. He has been unable to find a job himself & I recently lost my full time job. So I am trying to get back in to babysitting for some extra income. I absolutely LOVE children. They keep you "young"! I always wanted to have at least 1 or 2 more, but with being a single parent, and still today being single, I guess that just wasn't in the cards for me. Anyway, children bring so much joy & laughter to your life and they are such a blessing. You just never know what to expect from a child... you know the old phrase..."from the mouths of babes".
