I was a day care provider for 3 children, ages 8, 6, and 3. I fed them breakfast, drove the older children to school and kept the 3-year-old with me. I supervised her play time and TV watching. The TV programs watched were interactive and taught Spanish words, counting and the alphabet. At 3:45 p.m., I picked up children from school, and gave afternoon snacks, as directed by their mother. After snacks, I did homework with the preschool child, and then with the 2nd grade child. Homework was finished by the time their mother came home at 5:30 p.m. If she left instructions, I started dinner, or else just monitored its cooking. During homework time, the younger child amused herself with TV, games or coloring. I have experience with children from ages 3 months through 13years of age. Pets are an integral part of
most of the children's life that I have cared for and don't mind taking care of pets, I've even cared for a few fish at times, but never one in the reptile family. I don't do reptiles, not even turtles. In nice weather we can go to the park, or go out in the children's yard to play or in the case of all girls, maybe a cookie baking party, not to much sampling, but fixing, cooling, decorating and then the not so good part of cleaning up, which goes along with making anything. Little girls love dolls and I've done that, which brings back my memories and little boys love hide and seek, some safe sports and they even like board games. I like reading to children and even like them reading to me, especially the younger ones reading what the picture depicts. I don't mind light housekeeping, in reference to the children. I'm sorry I don't like laundry, but if the child/children get dirty and messy, then there is no alternative, but to do a load or two. I can load/unload the
dishwasher, time permitting and I can make it fun for the children to interact with me in loading the dishwasher. Only I put them away when dry, since most children can't reach where they are put. I've mixed formula, when showed how the baby likes it, the proper temperature when serving it. I there are other things the children like, I just need to know what they are.
