I recently graduated Mount Holyoke College, where I studied Physics and Philosophy. I have been babysitting and teaching for most of my life.

This past year, I taught "Mitzvoht" (Hebrew for "Good Deeds") on Sundays at Temple Sharey Tefilo Israel. My boss has been wonderful in letting me design my own type of class - I tell the children a story, and we have a class discussion about why the story was important. I then tell them what part of the story inspired the activity for the day, and I give them an activity where they have to creatively think about something in their own lives. I have used these projects as an opportunity to teach them about rough drafts and planning projects, teamwork, logic and creative problem solving. At the beginning of the year, my students were trying to say answers they thought I was looking for, and just tried to complete the assignment. Now, they ask me if they can try out a new ideas, they beg me for stories, and they care about their work.
