I am an energetic and active 34-year-old mother of a 2-month-old girl (born in March) who is looking for a part-time summer child care position. For the past 3 years, I worked at an elementary school in a local school district as a cafeteria/playground aide. When I had my daughter, I decided I wanted to stay home with her and provide child care.

This school year, I have provided after school care for two girls - a 5th grader and 3rd grader. Daily duties include greeting the girls at the school bus, helping with homework, preparing snack and the next day's lunch, and transporting to and from after school activities. Last school year, I provided after school care for two girls - an 11-year-old and a 9-year-old. I also have experience caring for the children of two of my close friends. One family has a 3.5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. The other family has 3-year-old twins - a boy and a girl. I have been babysitting these four children on occasion since they were born. I also would occasionally babysit for my niece when she was younger (she is now 18). In my job in the school district the past 3 school years, I supervised and provided care for each grade level in the cafeteria and on the playground so I am comfortable with all elementary age children as well. I also have extensive experience working with children through youth sports camps. From 2003-2010, I directed and was the lead instructor at seven softball camps and was an instructor/counselor at 17 additional softball camps and four basketball camps. The ages of the children at those camps generally ranged from 8-18.

As I said before, I am very active and energetic. I enjoy being outside and enjoy a lot of different activities and sports - jogging, softball, soccer, basketball, biking, swimming and taking walks, to name a few. I also like learning new things, so I would be happy to try new things with your children. I always enjoyed school and value education so I would be more than willing to help children with homework or help encourage reading at home.

I am CPR/First Aid/AED certified, and I have an Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) background check available (completed Aug 23, 2010 for my position in the schools).
