I have been caring for children for many years! I began babysitting my neighbors' and family's children at the age of 12. After graduating from high school, my first job was a at a daycare supervising children from infant to 5 years old. I became a part-time nanny for a family with 1 child and began working for them when the baby boy was 3 months to his first birthday. When that family had their second child, I again helped the mom with the two children ages 3 and the new baby girl. I stayed with the children for a week at a time when the parents traveled out of the country for work, on two separate occasions. I was a full time nanny for 6 months for a baby girl age 3 months until 9 months old, when the baby was old enough to join the daycare at her parents work. I still frequently babysit this now 6-year-old girl! I have also worked full time for five years at a residential treatment center for behaviorally disturbed children, ages 3-12. Leading activities for up to 20 children, modeling appropriate behaviors and accurately documenting behaviors specific to individual treatment plans.
