My name is Stephanie and I am a 25-year-old kindergarten classroom teaching assistant. I am a certified teacher (grades 1-6) in Massachusetts. When school ends in June, I begin my 2nd job as a camp counselor. I also worked in an after school program as a group leader for 3 years. I have been working with children and families for as long as I can remember.

I began babysitting about 10 years ago, at the age of 14. Most recently, I have worked as a mother's helper for a family with a pre-teen with special needs, as a short-term nanny, and weekend babysitter. Most of my babysitting positions have been after school care or babysitting regularly for families on weekend nights. I also spent a full summer as a nanny for 2 toddlers (40 hours/week.) More often than not, I babysit for families with children under 12. I do have experience caring for infants and toddlers and am comfortable caring for children of all ages.

In addition, I am CPR and first aid certified. I also have 3 years of experience working with children with special needs. Prior to working in a general education kindergarten class, I was a 1:1 aide for a child with special needs in an inclusion based preschool and kindergarten. I was also a teaching assistant in a first grade classroom. I also worked in an after school program, with children aged 5-8, as a group leader for 3 years.

I consider myself an active caregiver. During the warmer days, I enjoy spending as much time as possible entertaining the children I'm caring for outside. I encourage playing games and arts & crafts to keep busy on chilly afternoons or nights. Having fun, while sticking to a routine set by a family, is my number one goal while care giving. It is great to interact with and get to know the families I am working with.
