Ever since I was a young, I have loved the responsibility of taking care of children. The first time I took care of a child on my own, I was 14. My grandmother had 3 foster daughters. The two older ones were around my age but the youngest was a newborn. Since my grandmother is older, I took the initiative to put her bassinet in my room. I fed her, and change her throughout the night. Soon after, my aunt who I lived with got married and had 3 children of her own. I started babysitting her kids at the age of 15 and I continued up until a year after college. I currently work part time in an after school program, working with children from K- 5th grade.
