I absolutely love kids! In college I initially worked towards obtaining a degree in Early Childhood Education. While taking classes, I worked at a daycare for over four years and was able to get experience caring for and teaching children who were infants through preschool age. I started out working as what they call a "floater" assisting teachers with transitions, potty training, classroom decorating, and helping to maintain a safe and loving learning environment. During the summer months, I helped run our summer camp for elementary school aged children, which was a blast! I was able to plan field trips and organize all sorts of games and activities to make sure the kids were having fun and still learning. Then during my last year working at the daycare, I was able to teach a preschool class of my own! I loved creating lesson plans and going to the local library to check-out books that coincided with our weekly theme! I finished college with a degree in Environmental Studies, as my interests and passions led me in a different direction. My hope is to combine the two things I love most, children and the environment, into some sort of Environmental Education career.

Along with this, I have had the opportunity to nanny for two families. The first family had a 4-year-old boy who had been in my preschool class the year prior. Even though I was not in the classroom anymore, I still created lesson plans and activities for him to learn and have fun with. My second time being a Nanny was for a family in New Mexico. They had twin boys who were two and absolutely amazing! The family did not own a television set so we spent our days reading books, exploring and playing outside, and creating games from imagination. We also practiced letter and number recognition, writing their names, and even spent time learning to speak and understand Spanish!
