Attending classes, working in, and more or less growing up at my dance studio allowed me the opportunity to be actively involved in helping the ever-expanding families who were there was well. I have babysat for several of those families who have children ranging from newborns to 13-year-olds, and, on average, 1 to 4 children. I believe that every opportunity could be used to help a child learn something new. Whether it's a small everyday task or an arts and crafts project, there's something that can be learned!
Previously, I was a dance teacher's assistant for 6 years, helping to teach children between the ages of 3 and 13. However, once I graduated high school and moved to college here in Boston, I was no longer able to work at the dance studio. For two consecutive summers, I was a camp counselor for my dance studio. I was in charge of arts and crafts, organizing dance related activities, and helping to ensure children were able to come in to a safe and fun environment. Additionally, I volunteered to be the Director of Hair and Makeup for a local children's theater for children entering 3rd grade through 9th grade. Eventually, I went on to face paint at parties and events.
