I have been babysitting/nannying for 20 years now, I started watching the neighborhood kids when I was 12 years old. Over the years I have cared for many children. In high school I was known as the town babysitter and I was booked all the time. In fact, one of my senior pictures was taken with "Stacey's Kids." Now all those kids are taking senior pictures themselves!...

So here is a little information about me.
I have been babysitting/nannying for 20 years now, I started watching the neighborhood kids when I was 12 years old. Over the years I have cared for many children. In high school I was known as the town babysitter and I was booked all the time. In fact, one of my senior pictures was taken with "Stacey's Kids." Now all those kids are taking senior pictures themselves! I also cared for children when parents would go out of town for a couple of days.
In college I worked for the football team and during off season I worked at a daycare or babysat for the football coaches' kids. After the head coach's 3rd son was born I had to spend a few days in the maternity ward with the baby because his mom had some complications with her pregnancy. He had been released and she hadn't so I stayed up there to care for him.
Since I graduated from college I have lived in both Denver and Seattle. I have babysat for many families over the years. I cared for the girls that were on the 1st episode of Super Nanny. I got the job after the show had been filmed and was ready for the challenge. I was working full time at a homeless shelter for women with children and worked odd hours so I could nanny as well. In Denver I coached flag football for my boss's son and his friends. I also was a coach for the Girls on the Run program, a mentoring program for 3-5th graders that teaches them about self esteem while training for a 5k.
My work history also reflects my experiences with children. I started out my professional career as a youth treatment counselor working with at risk youth. I then was the school age program director at the YMCA and director of the Kids Night Out Program. Kids were dropped off on a Saturday night and parents were allowed a night out and the kids could play and swim at the Y. I worked with homeless women with children as well. I also was the supervisor at a group home for at risk teen boys.
The last 6 months I lived in Denver I lived with a family and helped care for their 3 kids while their dad traveled to Chicago every week. The oldest was 3, and the twins were just under 2. It was a great experience and I really miss the kids. Once I moved back to Seattle I had the opportunity to watch my niece this summer before I started work at the Department of Veteran Affairs. I love to be able to be a part of her life and enjoy seeing her grow up!
I think kids have so much to teach us, I love working with them and seeing their little faces.
