Hi! My name is Sheri. I studied 2 years of pre-med and nursing at Ivy Tech, I plan on continuing my education into practical nursing. I was a very valued housekeeper at the Country Inns and Suites for over 2 years. I have cared for children all my life, starting first in a church nursery, to large scale babysitting as a teenager, and now I have a toddler of my own whom I raise alone. My biggest interest is special needs care. Most of the year I am a personal aide to special needs students- but as the school year is over I need to find steady summer employment for up to 4 months. My usual day was working with a quadriplegic college student who lived in the campus dorm. My duties would include dressing him, feeding him, loading his wheelchair in and out of a van, attending classes with him and taking notes, using a lift, using a handheld urinal, using a cPAP machine, using the VEST airway clearance system, and making constant adjustments to his wheelchair and his position in it.
