Hello, my name is Shelly and I have 4 1/2 years of experience as a full time nanny and over 20 years as a babysitter. I have a love for children! I am a mother of 3 wonderful boys ages 25, 22, and 17. I have experience with all stages of childhood from newborn to 14 years old. I have been a Nanny with my current family for 4 1/2 years. I love to create a fully interactive day for the children I am keeping. That might be reading a book, coloring, playing games, doing crafts, making a game out of doing the laundry or cooking (depending on the age), going to the park, the Botanical Gardens, the Evansville Zoo, and the Owensboro Museum. I just try to keep them busy and happy. My job with my current family for the last 4 1/2 years has been as a nanny. I have taken care of a family of 6. The four children are, ages 4, 6 and 14-year-old twins. I clean the house, do the laundry, potty train, put things away, do the cooking of all 3 meals, 5 days a week, take the kids to school, pick them up after school and take them to after school events. I do homework with them, give the younger ones their baths and take them to the doctor when needed. I love to get the kids out of the house as much as I can. They have an in ground swimming pool so I supervise the swimming. This is my fist job as a nanny, but I just love being able to help another family when they need it. I babysit at my house and at other people's houses. To me it's a lot easier on the child to keep them at their house, around their own things. I have kept them overnight and on the weekend. If a child gets sick I will call the parent and let them know what is going on. Unless told otherwise, I will not keep any more than 5 kids. I feel more than 5 is too many for 1 person to be able to give good care. You call me and I am there. I am one who doesn't call in much at all. In the past 3 1/2 years I've taken off maybe 2 times. I have also worked for 10 years as a sitter, so I do know first aid and CPR. But it's been years since I have been certified. I am willing to get re-certified.
I am looking for full time and I am looking for part time nights and weekends.
