This family I started watching was just so mom and dad could have a date night, but when I was 14 years old it turned into my summer job. I watched them until I went to college. During that time I also worked at the daycare in my home town. I would work there during the school year and did school to work at the daycare....

My child care experience started when I was 11 years old. I started watching a family of 3 boys. This family I started watching was just so mom and dad could have a date night, but when I was 14 years old it turned into my summer job. I watched them until I went to college. During that time I also worked at the daycare in my home town. I would work there during the school year and did school to work at the daycare. Since moving to college I have worked at the University Of South Dakota daycare. While working there I worked with children of all ages. I would work where ever they needed me to fill in. Since working there, I also have been working at an in home daycare. This experience was new for me. I was working in my boss's home and had a wide range of children I was responsible for taking care of. Throughout all of this I have grown in my understanding of caring for children, each child is different than the one before. Throughout all of this I have always taken on side babysitting jobs. I have worked with a lot of children with different needs so I know that it can be challenging, but at the end of the day there is nothing else I would rather be doing.
