I have just completed my Junior year at Virginia Tech. I am home for the summer until the middle of August and would love to find a few different families to babysit on a regular basis. At Virginia Tech, I am majoring in Human Development, Child and Adolescent track. I hope to someday become an elementary school teacher. I started as a mother's helper in sixth grade and fell in love with this job. Once I became comfortable, I started to babysit on my own around seventh grade. Ever since then, I have babysat a number of different families; some with one child and even some with five. The age range that I have had experience with ranges as well, from 6 months to 14 years old. I am absolutely comfortable with any animals, and fall easily in love with any dog.

Since middle school, I have been very involved in volunteer work throughout this community and others. I have worked at many of events. I also tutored 1st-3rd graders at a primary school for four years. My favorite volunteer opportunity that I have had was helping rebuild New Orleans in 2010. Through my high school, Red Bank Catholic, I was chosen along with 10 other seniors to start this club at RBC and actually travel to New Orleans. This was a very moving experience and I hope to go back there soon.

All in all, I am a very loving, energetic and nurturing person. I have always enjoyed watching each of the children I babysit. I enjoy helping them with everyday tasks and love watching them grow into wonderful adolescents as the years have passed. Helping others in anyway possible has always been a passion of mine and babysitting has helped me accomplish this. I believe in listening to the children and finding the best way possible to break up an argument between siblings (I have three siblings of my own so I know exactly what goes on), and those times they have a million little things they do before bed (when actually it's just stalling their bedtime). I think that with my experience of all different types of families there are many things that I am confident with while babysitting.
