I started babysitting at the age of 10, and then I started helping the childcare provider at a women's support group. The childcare provided thought I was being such a good help she started paying me $20 dollars every Thursday night. A few years later she got another job opportunity. The leader of the support group came to me and asked if I could handle doing the job alone Thursday nights. Only being 16, I was excited to have that responsibility, and gladly accepted. Now, five years later, I am in college taking Early Childhood classes, so that I can eventually own my own daycare.
