My name is Shannon H. I am a sophomore at Wheelock College in Boston, MA. I am 19 years old and a full-time student living on campus. I am double majoring in Elementary Education and Counseling Psychology. My ultimate goal is to become an Elementary school teacher. I am looking for a part-time Nanny position starting approximately on January 22nd, 2013. Below, I have included my class schedule for this upcoming semester as to plan a cohesive agenda for both myself and your family.
I have been a caregiver for six years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. In terms of babysitting, I have been responsible for children ranging from 1 year to 14 years. Regarding my Nanny positions, I have spent time with children, ages 6 to 13. My past babysitting and Nanny jobs have provided hours of meaningful experience.
For the entirety of the previous school year, I was involved in a volunteer program. This is a national early education program that trains college students to help develop the language and literacy skills of preschool children in low-income neighborhoods. In doing so, the student volunteers are taking a large part in preparing the children for kindergarten. This was a very valuable and educational commitment that I whole heartedly enjoyed.
Throughout my experience as a caregiver, I have developed a philosophy where safety is my number one priority. I fully understand that the guardian(s) are relying on me to keep their children in a safe and enjoyable environment. Therefore, I also prioritize simply having fun with them. Lastly, I believe in developing a mutual respect between myself, the kids, and the guardian(s). I have confidence that having an open relationship between all of us will create the best atmosphere throughout my Babysitting position.
I look forward to finding a family that will be a cohesive match and bonding with the children that I am caring for. I realize how difficult of a process "Babysitter searching" can be, so I greatly thank you for your consideration and wish you the best of luck!
