When I was growing up my mom ran a home day care. I have been involved with helping her since age 8. When I was 12, I started taking occasional babysitting jobs by myself and have been caring for children ever since. Throughout high school and college, I babysat for a number of my teachers and professors, as well as local families in my town. After graduating college, I began working as a nanny for 2 families. One family had an 18-month-old and a 5 day old when I started and the other family had 4, 8 and 10-year-olds. I became part of their families and worked for them for several years. I have experience working with children from birth through teens. I have worked with families from all different ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds. I have been with families that have struggled through cancer, divorce, moves, death of family members, death of pets and learning disabilities. I have cared for kids for several consecutive days while their parents have gone on vacation. I truly love the children I have worked with in the past and have even included them in my wedding. I have been recently working with a family since March. The mom was just laid off and no longer requires me on a daily basis. I am looking to find a family who needs help part time and is close to the Des Plaines area. I have references available, including my most recent family. I am looking to work about 20 to 30 hours a week. I currently teach Sunday School at a church in Park Ridge, so I am not available to work on Sunday mornings (unless your children wanted to attend Sunday School as well.)
