I am a full time college student in California. I am currently home for the summer and I am looking for a rewarding experience this summer. I love working with children and enjoy their presence. I am reliable, efficient, and very flexible with hours. I have previously worked with children from ages 5-13 for the past three summers at a local elementary school. I have helped lead activities such as arts and craft time and have helped supervise free play time. This role also allowed me to solve conflicts between children and provide appropriate consequences such as saying sorry or writing a letter of apology. In addition, I have experience caring for and looking after younger children from 9 months to 3 years old. I was expected to change, bathe, and feed children while providing care. In addition, I like to engage in activities such as baking and doing small educational activities with children who are old enough to participate. As a care giver I place importance on hands on activities with children as opposed to placing them in front of the television all day in order for them to develop the necessary social and critical skills.
