Shanaz I.

This review is from Mia and Eric W. We are available anytime as a reference to discuss the care that Shanaz has given. Shanaz is excellent and HIGHLY recommended. She is an intelligent, creative, active, engaged, and caring babysitter. We could not be happier with the influences she has had on our daughter (who will be 4 in November). She is absolutely trustworthy, with incredible moral values, one of the warmest and most generous persons we have ever met. She knew how to guide and raise our daughter without the need for us to explain anything. We highly recommend her to anyone who understands that a person who takes care of your child takes care of your most precious thing in life. OVERALL: What will you get should you hire Shanaz? You will get a caregiver that will maintain an ongoing conversation with your child. She will do arts & crafts, read, sing & teach them how to help with practically everything (especially cooking). She will listen to & encourage your child to not only describe their surroundings, but explore the reasons why things happen. Your child will be very proud of what he/she can do & what they know. (from Eric) As one example, my daughter will tell me that "Tomorrow, I am going to Key Food with Sha Sha." The next day, she tells me of their adventures in great detail. I hear why they picked certain fruits & vegetables (and why they put some back). When I get home or when they call me at work, she will tell me everything they bought, what is on sale and what wasn't ripe yet. One weekend, I tried to buy broccoli and was told, "no Daddy, you have to get those at the vegetable store". As it turned out, it was about half the price... My point is that Shanaz doesn't just wheel her around the store if she's picking a few things up for us. Every moment is an opportunity to watch a child grow & she gets it. COMMUNICATION: Shanaz will gladly answer any and ALL questions that you may have & will let you know anything & everything that happened in the day. As a parent herself, she understands that any detail in your child's life is important. We'll talk about the different books the she read in the day & that we read at night. We share which parts of the story our daughter wants to "read" herself & always communicate to solve the various riddles that a young child throws your way, i.e. that plastic turtle she may have seen in the yard down the street, etc. When the time comes & your child starts asking the questions, she knows how to answer them in a way that keeps the conversation going (and is appropriate). RESPONSIBLE: Shanaz is reliable. Her morning commute to us requires 3 trains, and she is always on time. Really. MISC: She is a great cook & very versatile. We have raised our daughter on a fairly strict organic, no-this, no-that diet & Shanaz has adapted. We laugh at some of the no-this/that, but in the end she respects our decisions. And, she has opened our eyes to various spices & recipes that have become part of our regular diet. Why is Shanaz becoming available? Our daughter is beginning an all day pre-k program in September. So, if you are looking for a caregiver, then you should absolutely contact Shanaz. Again, we are available anytime as a reference.

Shanaz I. served as a full-time mother helper/babysitter, for my children for 8 years from 01/2000-12/2008. She cared for my 2 boys, ages 2 years old and a newborn. I highly recommend her for future employment. She was very dependable and I feel blessed to have her as a part of my children's lives. Mrs. I. has a kind-hearted, patient and nurturing personality. She went above and beyond her duties as a mother helper/babysitter. She helped my two year old learn how to recognize letters. She provided my infant with fantastic care, even being patient while he had colic. Mrs. I. was referred to me by a trusted friend, and I always felt safe leaving my children with her. She was very understanding, even when having to work overtime. She even transported my children to doctor's appointments and local activities.
