I started babysitting at age 12 and have worked with children of all ages quite a lot since. I have served as a church camp counselor or chaperone several times. I was a live-out nanny from May to November of 2007 to an infant and 3-year-old (both girls). In 2008, I started working for a daycare/learning center. I left there in July of 2010, but returned in June of 2011. I have primarily worked with infants while at the daycare, but also have experience with the older children. I am currently the primary infant teacher at the center and I love getting to spend my days with the five children currently in my care. My favorite part is, and has pretty much always been, singing to a child while rocking them to sleep. I am also a big reader, both on my own time and when I get the chance at work with the kids (which isn't always every day due to the varying schedules of five babies). I am very knowledgeable on Disney movies (I know many of the songs by heart), as well as on fairy tales (both books and movies). Throughout my years in childcare, I have learned several fun songs to use with younger children, and love singing them to make the children smile and laugh. I have also had a good amount of experience (through my job) with children in the foster care system, many of whom have had developmental issues due to alcohol and/or drug use by their birth mothers during pregnancy, so I'm definitely accustomed to dealing with children who can be more demanding at times than others of the same age.
