I am looking for a wonderful family to be a nanny or provide child care for. I have a BS in Biology and a master's in Education. I have a clean driving record. My experience as a child care provider has been with children ages four and above. I also helped to raise my sister's children after illness left her incapacitated from time to time. I love children and have taught voluntarily at various places.

It is my philosophy that children are at their best when they are engaged. It could be reading, exploratory play and games, guided use of computer, exploring the outdoors, exploring the local community, as well as planned trips. I do my best to create and foster environments that allow children to grow, learn and have a great time. I like to do things with kids, reading, crafts, board games, pretend games, especially anything where kids are up, on their feet and are involved, including: going to the park for sports or playground, neighborhood walks and exploration, trips to a zoo, a museum, beach, park, or other fun seasonal activities.
I get children to practice music, reading, math skills, anything that will enrich their lives and academic success.
I play Legos with both boys and girls.
One of the most fun and academic activities that provides intellectual stimulation in a stress free environment that I find all children enjoy is a trip to the library or even a bookstore. I have seen children develop a new reading interest in such unstructured academic environments.
Many babysitters today are simply that: they show up and make sure everyone is happy, but do not take the interest to go further. My philosophy is to mentor towards the positive personal development. I care for your child exactly the way I assume you would. I have the time to do things a teacher may not. I helped a young boy who did a lot of puzzle books with learning to use a mechanical pencil. Once I get to "know" a child I can come up with meaningful activities.
I do light cooking as well as tidying up a residence. I also provide transportation to after school activities safely.
If you are seeking a nanny or child care provider that is dependable, dynamic, motivated and curious and transmits these characteristics to her charges, look no further.
Thank you for reading my post and I hope to assist your family very soon.
