My child care experience began when I myself was a child. When I was 6 the first of my younger sisters was born. I was often asked to help change diapers, give the baby her bottle, or simply entertain her while my parents tended to other responsibilities. This proved great training when I started baby-sitting at age 14. Now, eight years later, I've cared for nearly 25 different children from 10 families ranging in age from three months to 12 years. I feel comfortable with all ages and would definitely put child care as one of my favorite jobs. I know all children are different and I love getting to know each one as an individual. I love helping children grow and develop into healthy, confident, and intelligent adolescents. I encourage play, use of every child's imagination, art and crafts, reading time, dance, sports time if wanted by the parent, and healthy eating. In addition, I studied Spanish for seven years, Portuguese for two years, and French for one year, if you or your child is interested in exploring foreign languages. I do not have my own car, but do have a valid WA driver's license with a clean record, a bicycle, and knowledge of the bus system.
