I have tutored children between the ages of 10-14 in the math and sciences at an after school middle school tutoring program. I also participated in Big Brother Big Sister as a volunteer for two summers, helping organize and carry out hikes, field trips to amusement parks, and movie outings for the children (ages 5-15). During a year spent abroad in Italy, I worked at an after school Jewish children's center, where I transported the children from school to the center, helped with their homework, tutored in English, prepared snacks and helped with religious studies. Furthermore, I have been a caregiver to the elderly for about 6 years, giving in-home care to disabled individuals (usually those with Alzheimer's Disease). In this role I have had to assume the sole responsibility for their mental and physical well being, a level of responsibility that is similar to that of caring for a young child.
