I have 8+ years' experience providing childcare. I have worked with all age groups, infants through early-teenager, but the majority of my experience has been with infants, toddlers, pre-K, and kindergarten-aged children. I particularly love kids of these ages because they are growing and developing rapidly, learning and soaking up new information like a sponge. I enjoy the ever-changing challenge of helping them to understand the world around them, and to make sense of their environment and experience it in a way that is developmentally appropriate for their age.
I have worked as a babysitter (including overnight, 24/7, weekend-long/extended periods, and traveling with families), and as a nanny, both part-time and full-time as a primary caregiver (50+ hrs./week). I have also provided pet care and long-term house-sitting for my previous employers. I am reliable, capable, and responsible, and own a safe, reliable vehicle. I am comfortable transporting children of any age in my vehicle or yours, whether it is to school or play, lessons or outings.
As a nanny, I believe it is my job to create the healthiest, safest, and most nurturing environment that I can; to promote age-appropriate psychological and physical development through stimulating play; and to support the children in my care, as well as their families, in any way I can. I take my job seriously, and have great fun doing it! I enjoy playing an active role in caring for children. As an energetic, optimistic, creative, and intelligent person, I love to participate with kids in a variety of activities and experiences. It is exciting to watch them learn and grow as they discover new things.
I have a master's degree in psychology, and draw from both experience and education when interacting with children. I truly enjoy providing childcare. It is fulfilling for me to see the positive impact I can make in the lives of children, and by extension, their families!
I have enjoyed forming lasting relationships with families from my past babysitting and nannying experiences. Please feel free to contact me for references, or if you have any questions.
