As the oldest sibling, I have been responsible for my younger brothers since 5th grade.
I began paid babysitting in middle school for a family I knew through church. They had a girl and a boy whom I babysat occasionally beginning when they were 5 and 2, respectively, and continued on and off for a couple of years.
When I entered college, four years ago, I became an occasional babysitter for one of my professors, whose two boys were 3 and 5 at the time. I still babysit them once or twice a month.
For both families, my responsibilities included playing with the children, sometimes preparing dinner, and usually getting the children to bed.
Through camp counseling and Sunday school teaching, I have a lot of experience with 4th and 5th grade girls, both individually and in groups.
As for pets, I have personally had dogs and cats for the majority of my life. I also worked at a veterinary clinic for two years, so I have some experience in administering pet medications.
