I'm professional, trustworthy, reliable and understand that children are a parents' greatest treasure. I treat all members of the family I work for with respect. I'm friendly, out-going and like to have fun with children. I'm an artist and also enjoy crafts and related projects. I love to read and enjoy reading to children and seeing them develop a love for books. My style is warm, friendly and casual, but also responsible. When correcting negative behavior I speak calmly, yet firmly and explain why the behavior is not acceptable. I give time-outs and may confiscate toys or privileges, but never spank. I also ensure that the children know I still care about them despite any difficulties. I will always defer to the parents instructions and preferences toward discipline as well as any other areas the parents indicate. I always keep the parents informed as to what happens through out the day (good or bad). I encourage creativity and like to leave room for spontaneous play or ideas. I also encourage children in the areas of their natural talents and abilities, whatever they may be.
