For the past three years, I have cared for a little boy. As of today, he is a bright active child who is very well behaved. He knows the entire alphabet, and can count up to 100. I am trying to teach him mathematics, a.k.a. 1+1=2. We read together quite often, and he has been known to pick up books and read them on his own. If it's not raining, he gets about an hour or two of outside time. Presently, I am teaching him to swim and play T-ball. Over the past 3 years, I have learned to change diapers, deal with spit up, and come to an understanding that all children learn in their own unique ways. Currently, I am learning how to potty train this young man. What can I say "it's a hit or miss situation" just depends on the day of the week. As to potty training, it's still new for both of us. I have recently become certified in First Aid/CPR/AED. This way if he does get something stuck in his throat which, let's face it, children love to chew, it will come right back out again. When I first started watching him this was a job for money, but today it is a source of joy and happiness. I have an amazing job, sometimes trying yes, but amazing none the less.
