My name is Sarah.
I am 21 years old, and I am a rising senior at Winthrop University, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education. After obtaining my degree, I plan on having my own classroom, teaching 2nd grade. During my senior year of high school, I worked at an indoor sports facility in the after school day care, where I watched 10-15 children at a time, aged 5-12 years old. Also, during my senior year, I was a part of Teacher Cadets, where I led discussions, read, and helped teach a third grade class. I have also helped coach children age 3-6 at various soccer camps, over previous summers. Throughout my freshman year at Winthrop University, I tutored 4th and 5th graders from the local elementary school. During my sophomore year at Winthrop University,
I was able to tutor and help teach a kindergartner with learning disabilities.
I also helped assist teaching in a fifth grade classroom. The summer of my junior year, I was a nanny for two girls, aged 3 and 5, for the entire summer, in the Flower Mound area. During this job I helped with some light housework, prepared meals, and supervised the girls in the swimming pool. Throughout my junior year, I volunteered at a laboratory school located at Winthrop University where I was a teacher assistant in a 3 and 4-year-old classroom. Next school year I will be in my full-time internship where I will be teaching 2nd grade! Throughout my time at Winthrop, I have taken extensive courses helping me develop creative movement, art, and music activities with children. I am very comfortable with children, and I love working with them!
