As a young child, I always loved taking care of small children. Even though I was very young, I was the first one to respond to a crying child and cradle him/her until the crying subsided. My parents always say that I have some special ability to nurture a child that many people do not have including the patience that it takes to soothe and comfort a baby. I began to baby-sit at around 7 years old for family members and friends of the family. Initially, I was close to home or my mother (schedule permitting) would come with me to make sure I was completely ready to dive into the world of child care. Now that I am 21 years old, I must say that I have seen and heard everything involving children. I am studying my passion for early childhood education in college as well as marketing/advertising. Fortunately, my schedule allows me to have time to continue babysitting/nanny during school and it will assist me in my future hopefully to become a preschool teacher. Growing up in a family that is so nurturing and loving has molded me into the person who I am today. My family is also very close. My father is chief of surgery at one of the Chicago hospitals and my mother is a retired nurse who decided that taking care of me when I was little was most important. I thank them for teaching me that family is most important and hard work, strength and love is the key to life and success.
