It is because of them that my love for working with children is so strong and, that I earned my first job as a preschool teacher's aide at Capital Campus Child Care Center. There, I helped to design lesson plans, play, take care of, and love the children; the job gave me experience working with all types of children with different needs....

I have two younger brothers who I have helped to take care of all my life. It is because of them that my love for working with children is so strong and, that I earned my first job as a preschool teacher's aide at Capital Campus Child Care Center. There, I helped to design lesson plans, play, take care of, and love the children; the job gave me experience working with all types of children with different needs. While I worked there, I earned the luxury to work with many different age groups as well, from as early as infants to as old as 5-year-olds. Because of my position as a teacher 's aide, I had to take CPR and HIV training classes and, I now have those skills to help me as I continue to work in childcare. Also, for several summers I volunteered as a junior sailing instructor at the Olympia Yacht Club. I taught children between the ages of seven and 12 how to sail, and in the afternoon I worked with teens. In addition to giving me further work experience with children, the job also taught me how to work efficiently and calmly in high stress situations. I am confident in my skills and know that I can provide the loving, fun, and safe atmosphere any parent would want for their child.
