Recommendation for Edith Santos C. I highly recommend Santos (Edith) C. as a nanny and childcare provider. As a single dad, I am always short on time. Edith provides loving care for my children and tireless support for me. She is responsible, reliable, dedicated, and trustworthy.
Edith became our knight in shining armor the minute she walked in the door. The two children 1.5 and 4 years old immediately fell in love with her. My baby girl's face lights up when Edith speaks to her and my son climbs in her lap. She is warm and loving; the children love her as a member of our family.
We originally hired Edith to work 3:00-7:30 p.m. on weekdays. Her responsibilities were to pick the children up at childcare and school, bring them home, feed them, give them their baths and get them ready for bed. This is one of the most difficult times of the day, because the children are tired and hungry. In Edith's care, the children were calm, happy and engaged. By the time I got home, they were always well fed, bathed and ready for their bedtime stories.
Edith also went above and beyond the call of duty. She often helped to pickup and clean house and ran errands whenever asked. She took the initiative and kept the house orderly.
We moved to Arlington Virginia in May, right after my son's school let out for summer vacation. Edith now works for us full time from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m Monday through Friday. She commutes all the way from Maryland, taking Metro and buses and is never late.
Edith has been introducing the children to other kids in the neighborhood at the playgrounds and parks. She researched libraries and other community resources and even helped me plan weekend activities while she's off duty. She also organized weekday field trips to the zoo and museums, coordinating schedules with the other nannies in the neighborhood.
Edith continues to go above and beyond, cooking and cleaning. She helped me to organize and setup our new home and manages the house when I'm away. If I have a repair man coming to the house when I'm not at home, I can rely on her to let him in and to keep an eye on things. She also brings the children to appointments when I can't.
Edith is very flexible. For example, I will be going on an overnight business trip this month and Edith will be caring for the children in my absence. However, as a single dad, I occasionally need help on short notice. For this reason alone, I will start working with an au pair service in August. The au pair will live with us and will replace Edith as the children's primary care giver.
I've employed many nannies and babysitters and Edith is the best. She has been a wonderful caregiver and a tremendous help to me. I go to work knowing that the children are safe and well cared for. I can rely on Edith to be in charge while I am away and to maintain an orderly household and the children s schedule. I hold her in the highest regard. She is resourceful, trustworthy, intelligent, and takes her job very seriously. The children and I will be very sad to see her go.
